Kassak Centre organised the Slovakian part of the international project Private Nationalism (2013-15), which focused on artistic research about nationalism, intercultural closeness and extremist politics in Central Europe. The project created a stir that resulted in the withdrawal of received funding. This brought cultural organisers and institute (including Slovak National Gallery) from across Central Europe together, to support the project and demand for the importance of free artistic expression.
